Registration open for 2011 Winter Break Skate Camp

Delray Beach – The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the 2011 Winter Break Skate Camp.

This interactive camp is geared for beginner and advanced skaters, ages 5 to 15.

It will be held Dec. 27-30, Jan.  3- 6 and Jan.  9, from 9-4 p.m., at the 505 Teen Center and Hobbit Skate Park, 505 SE 5th Ave.

Christian Smith, Hobbit Skate Park’s newest skate instructor, will teach this nine -day camp, which will include evaluations, skill development/enhancement, drills and free skate.

Participants must bring their own skateboards and wear a strapped helmet.  Knee and elbow pads are recommended.

Registration for this exciting Winter Break Skating Camp is open to all City residents and non-residents and may be completed on-line at, or in person Monday – Saturday, from 12 noon until 9 p.m. at the 505 Teen Center.

The cost is $180 for Delray Beach residents and $200 for non-residents.  A $5 non-refundable registration fee will be included.
