DELRAY BEACH – Join the largest “Cha Cha” Slide in South Florida at the inaugural We Kan Burn Ribs Cook off, Saturday, Dec. 3 at Lake Ida Park in Delray Beach. The Ribs Cook off, a family event, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and boasts loads of fun-packed activities. Celebrity hosts and local officials, including Delray Beach Mayor Woodie McDuffie, will join award winning cook Regina Martin of Rearcy’s Rib Shack and other local “sauce” makers to stir up some tasty grub. Gourmet food trucks and other vendors and exhibitors will provide food, refreshments, arts and crafts, and information on health and wellness. The motorcycle display is a can’t miss.
Kids can enjoy free face painting, a bounce house, and participating in the “longest” tug-of-war and other games. Delray Beach Fire-Rescue as well as the Florida Highway Patrol will provide safety tips and demonstrations. Catch the Delray Beach Police SWAT Team in action. Raffle prizes include $50 gas cards, an Amazon Kindle Fire, and child safety seats. At 2 p.m., line up for the largest “Cha Cha” Slide dance in South Florida and later move to the rhythm of the La Paloma Dancers!
Admission is a new, unwrapped toy at the gate. Monetary donations are encouraged and also will be accepted. Your gift will benefit police and local charities’ toy drives and the Knights of Pythagoras Mentoring Network. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
