Couple killed in car crash west of Delray

By Staff Reports

A couple was killed in a crash in suburban Delray Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Perry Muscarnera, 87, who was driving the couple’s 2002 Chrysler Sebring, died Thursday at Delray Medical Center, Sheriff’s officials said.

His wife, Bette Muscarnera, 82, died at the scene of the collision at the intersection of West Atlantic Avenue and El Claire Ranch Road.

The couple was eastbound on Atlantic Avenue when their car turned left at the intersection and into the path of a westbound Honda Accord, according to a Sheriff’s Office crash report.

The Accord, which entered the intersection under a green traffic signal, struck the Sebring’s passenger side, the report said.

The Accord’s driver, Fredric Kasten, 17, of suburban Boca Raton, was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
