BOYNTON BEACH – Police on Thursday arrested an employee at the South Tech Academy charter school for allegedly having sexual relations with a 15-year-old student at the school.
Lantana police arrested DeJean Myrtil of Greenacres and charged him with lewd or lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16, a second-degree felony.
Myrtil, 27, is the secretary to the staff of deans, and mentors students in the in-school suspension program.
He has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the investigation, school officials said.
Police said Myrtil had sex with a female student multiple times off campus in the past couple of months.
None of the alleged sexual encounters took place on the 30th Avenue campus of the charter school, officials said.
