Early morning shooting leaves 52-year-old Boynton man dead

BOYNTON BEACH – March 12, Authorities are searching for the killer of a 52-year-old man, who was fatally wounded in an early-morning shooting on Monday.

Boynton Beach police were called to an apartment complex at 701 Rider Road shortly after 2 a.m. after several neighbors called 911 to report hearing a gunshot.

When officers arrived, they followed a trail of blood up an exterior staircase leading up to a second-floor apartment and found Vincent Veasey face down.

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Veasey dead.

A police spokeswoman said detectives are following several leads. It was not made clear if there was one shooter or multiple shooters.

Veasey has a criminal history dating back to 2000. He’s been arrested for drug possession and sales, and aggravated battery.

The Boynton Beach Police Department is asking anyone with information to call 561-732-8116 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
