Students evacuated safely after school bus catches on fire

DELRAY BEACH – A bus carrying 30 school children was evacuated after it caught fire Tuesday afternoon.

No-one was injured in the incident near NE 21st Street and Northridge Road.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 2:30 p.m. and found the bus full of smoke. The engine was on fire, officials said.

The children were led to safety and taken to Plumosa Elementary School. Another bus arrived and took them home.

The incident is under investigation.
