The Florida Fishing Academy is inviting golfers to have a fun day on the links for a great cause on Saturday, Oct. 6 as it raises money to fund the academy’s programs.
The second Annual Golf Classic will be at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton.
Proceeds will provide scholarships for students to attend a Summer Camp, the Riviera Beach Community Boating Program and the Seagull Academy for Independent Living.
Founded in 2006 by Captain Richard Brochu, a former Delray Beach police officer, the academy has exposed more than 4,000 at-risk children in Palm Beach County schools and city-run Youth Empowerment Centers to swimming, fishing, snorkeling and rowing.
The academy was featured in a “Making a Difference” segment on “NBC News with Brian Williams.”
Sponsorships and participation in the classic range from $75 to $500. For more information, contact Brochu at 561-740-7227 or Rich@FloridaFishingAcademy.com.
