DELRAY BEACH —In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Larry Savvides, general manager of Mizner Country Club, has instituted some initiatives.

Here are some of the “Pink” ideas that will be implemented at the Club and will continue throughout October:

1. Pink ribbon pins will be worn by employees

2. Pink rubber bracelets will be worn by all managers, provided by The Pap Corps

3. Pink lemonade will replace yellow lemonade at Palazzo and Card rooms

4. Pink ties for servers to wear

5. Pink lights for exterior water fountains

6. Pink attire will be worn by managers as much as possible

7. Pink template border for all emails

8. Email signatures to include a pink ribbon or the “Mizner Cares” logo

9. Pink colored dessert on the menu every night and on buffets

10. White tablecloths and pink napkins in the main dining room

11. Pink napkins will be used in the Bar & Grille

12. Pink color flowers for the bud vases for the dining room tables as well as the large flower centerpiece in the lobby

13. Pink colored frozen yogurt

“Almost everyone is affected by someone who has breast cancer—be it a relative, neighbor or friend,” Savvides said. “We want to do what little we could to show our support of those touched by this disease.”

Mizner is one of South Palm Beach’s newer country club gated communities. Located minutes from Downtown Delray Beach, this boutique-style club features 470 single-family homes.  Members enjoy a world class 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, six tennis courts, a resort-style swimming pool, a fitness center with state of the art equipment including an aerobics facility, an elegant grand ballroom, versatile dining options, year round social events, and children’s activities.
