POMPANO BEACH- On Wednesday, October 24th, VSE Corporation and Rick Levin & Associates, Inc. will be hosting an auction of seized and forfeited property on behalf of the US Department of Treasury.
Over 300 public auctions are conducted annually throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico to sell property forfeited as a result of violations of federal law enforced by the Department of the Treasury or nonpayment of Internal Revenue Service taxes.
A wide variety of both new and used merchandise is available, including automobiles, aircraft, boats, real estate, jewelry: including designer watches, diamonds and gold; electronics, laptops, iPhones, iPads, digital cameras, wearing apparel, industrial equipment, and other miscellaneous goods.
Main previews of these items will take place at the VSE Pompano Beach Warehouse located at 2951 NW 27(th) Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33069 on Monday, October 22 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Bidders may also register for the auction during the preview time and are encouraged to do so. On the day of sale, registration begins at 8:00 a.m. There are no property previews on sale day.
The auction will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the VSE Pompano Beach Warehouse, at 2951 NW 27th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33069.
The Department of the Treasury Asset Forfeiture Program endeavors to deprive criminals of property used in or acquired through illegal activities to disrupt and dismantle criminal enterprises, reports say. Other agencies that are participating include: U.S. Customs & Border Protection, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service, and Secret Service. Proceeds from the auction are returned to these agencies through the Treasury Asset Forfeiture Fund for the continuation of their enforcement efforts.
