Santaluces Earns Prestigious Awards in State Band Finals

BOYNTON BEACH – The Santaluces High School Marching Chiefs earned the “Best in Class Visual”and 1st Runner Up titles in the Florida Marching Band Coalition’s State Marching Band Competition recently.The Marching Chiefs were named “Best in Class Visual” in the 2A class and the 1st Runner Up out of 20 bands.Alyssa Polny, a four- year alto saxophone senior, was also announced as a Jon Kersten Memorial Scholarship Recipient. She was honored in the Finals Olympic Retreat in front of a huge crowd in the Tropicana Dome in St. Petersburg.The FMBC Finals Olympic Retreat was held – with overMore than 10,000 Florida students participated in the Nov. 17 semi-finals and finals at four locations in Tampa and St. Petersburg.
