By Fred Hamilton
RIVIERA BEACH – Authorities are looking for two armed men who riddled a street with gunshots and left a two-year-old child, who was caught in the crossfire, fighting for her life.
The shooting happened at about 8:40 pm. Thursday in the 1100 block of West 32nd Street.
Police say they know who the suspects are, but they aren’t releasing their identities while they search for them.
”We believe they are still armed and dangerous,” Police spokeswoman Rose Ann Brown said.
The victim, her mother, a sibling and a male were passengers in a car being driven by her grandmother when the male passenger noticed another car following, police said.
The male passenger asked the grandmother to pull into the parking lot of an apartment building at 1176 West 32nd Street, but did not give her a reason why.
As the grandmother pulled into the parking lot, a small black car pulled in behind her. The male passenger exited her car and a male exited the small black car, police said.
The two males began firing at each other, during which time, the two year-old was shot, police said. Her grandmother rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was in critical but stable condition.  Both shooters fled the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 561-845-4123 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
