George Zimmerman Speeding, Pulled Over With gun in car

Less than a month after being acquitted of murder charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman was reportedly stopped for speeding. Dash-cam footage shows the officer pulling him over in the town of Forney, Texas (about 25 miles from Dallas), according to TMZ.

Zimmerman — who told the cop he had a gun in the glove compartment shortly after being pulled over — stated he was headed ‘nowhere in particular.’ During the traffic stop, which occurred at 12:54 p.m. Sunday, Zimmerman also inquired if the officer recognized him from television.

‘You didn’t see my name?’ asked Zimmerman, according to the Daily Mail. The officer answered, ‘Wow, what a coincidence.’

After a routine check, the cop returned and told the Florida man, ‘Just take it easy, go ahead and shut your glove compartment and don’t play with your firearm, OK?’

Zimmerman was issued a warning.

In case you’re keeping track — this incident is the second time Zimmerman has made headlines since his trial concluded. On July 17, The Huffington Post reported that the neighborhood watchman came to the aid of a family trapped under an SUV on a Florida highway.
