Authorities from two jurisdictions are investigation a crash that sent two people to Delray Medical Center in stable condition.
Delray Beach Fire-Rescue personnel responded to what was reported as a hit and run collision at 16205 South Military Trail, the intersection of Military Trail and the entrance to Wal-Mart at 3 p.m. on Sept. 17.
Both vehicles were severely damaged and one traveled approximately one-half mile from the scene in what appeared to be an “out of control” state until it struck a tree in front of a development, a witness said.
That driver reported that the car could not be stopped.
A witness told authorities that the driver whose car lost control was “lucky to be alive” after the force of the first collision, let alone the second collision with the tree.
The Delray Beach Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office are investigating the collision since the vehicles came to rest in separate locations and jurisdictions.
